Carroll grand jury issues indictments

Several charges involve sale or possession of prescription or restricted drugs.

HILLSVILLE — The Carroll County grand jury issued 62 indictments when it met Monday.
An indictment is a formal charge, not a finding of guilt.
Those named in the charges include:
• Amanda Dawn Akers, abuse and neglect of a child
• Eddie Ray Ayers, grand larceny of property belonging to Stephanie Hicks
• Dustin Smokey, obtaining property by false pretenses from Cleona Etta Lineberry
• Timothy Banks Brannock, grand larceny of a 2005 GMC Sierra, belonging to Eugene Keene Sr.; receiving stolen property
• Kincie Douglas Burnette, violation of the habitual offender statute, driving under the influence of alcoholic beverages
• Everett Gordon Carter, possession of a schedule II drug with the intent to distribute, involving Oxycodone and Percocet (three counts); possession of a Schedule IV drug with the intent to distribute (two counts) involving Xanax and Phentermine Hydrochloride
• Christopher Maurice Choron, taking indecent liberties with a child under the age of 15
• Mark Lee Cruise, assault and battery against a family or a household member
• Shannon Dean Donithan, possession of methamphetamine, a Schedule II drug, and possession of a firearm while in possession of a Schedule II drug
• Christopher Sherriel Dunagan, possession of Alprazolam, a Schedule IV drug; possession of Buprenorphine, a Schedule III drug; possession of Oxycodone; possession of morphine, a Schedule II drug
• Barbara Michelle Earles, statutory burglary from the home of Keith Bryant; grand larceny
• Donald Lee Edwards, possession of meth
• Kenneth Ray Elledge Jr., petit larceny-third offense from Mary Hunley
• Brittany Kerri Eller, possession of meth and grand larceny of a 2002 Hyundai Elantra belonging to Cox Auto Sales
• Jeanne Yvette Goad, shoplifting
• Verlin Dean Hall, larceny of a firearm belonging to David Erhardt, and possession of a firearm after being convicted of a felony
• Marvin Juhon Hampton, assault and batter against a family or household member
• Kevin Terry Harris, unauthorized use of a 2007 Suzuki 400 four-wheeler
• James Charles Hawks, possession of a firearm after being convicted of a violent felony; possession of a sawed-off shotgun
• Nelson Scott Hawks, possession of a firearm after being convicted of a felony
• Corey Dean Hodges, distribution of marijuana
• Kevin Keith Hodges, shoplifting
• Coren Dean Jarrell, statutory burglary from the home of Nathan Sharp; grand larceny
• Jason Micheal Lambert, grand larceny of property (two counts) from Bobby Hill and Todd Dillon; eluding a law enforcement officer
• Jason Matthew Lawson, distribution of marijuana
• Luke Harley McBrayer, statutory burglary from Crowders Quarry; grand larceny
• Lucy Jane Martin, shoplifting
• Anthony Wayne Montgomery, grand larceny of a Dodge Stratus belonging to Mitchell White
• Douglas Elmo Nester Jr, grand larceny (two counts) of a 2006 Ford Fusion and a 1974 Chevrolet pickup from James Bishop
• Mark Houston Newman, shoplifting, third offense
• Sammy Jackson Parks, driving under the influence of alcoholic beverages
• Rebecca Lynn Ramey, shoplifting, third offense
• Darold Shane Smith, grand larceny of a 1989 Chevrolet Blazer belonging to Neoshia Tate
• Bobby Michael Swift, possession of cocaine, a Schedule II drug; possession of meth
• Leonard Lee Thompson, malicious wounding of Cecil Wooster
• Darla Dean Tate, abuse and neglect of a child
• Ricky Lewis Sawyers Sr., distribution of a Schedule III drug, Lorcet; possession of Percocet; possession of morphine; possession of Roxicodone, a Schedule II drug
• Brian Wayne Edwards, grand larceny from Bobby Hill
• Jerome Wayne Alley, grand larceny from Ruby Goad and statutory burglary.
