Carroll grand jury issues 84 indictments

Among the usual drug offenses are the assault of three police officers and a rape charge.

HILLSVILLE — A Carroll County grand jury issued 84 indictments and sealed six after meeting for its spring session Monday.
An indictment is a formal charge, not a finding of guilt.
Those named in the indictments include:
• Riley Dale Alley, shoplifting
• Chase Kiran Altice, two counts each of grand larceny and statutory burglary for incidents at the home of William B. Webb and Keith and Beulah Bryant
• Juan Benitez, two counts of possession of a schedule II drug, Oxycontin, with intent to distribute Xanax
• Gary Lee Brown Jr. abuse and neglect of a child under the age of 18
• Billy Dean Caldwell, shoplifting, third offense
• Emil Benjamin Cassis, unauthorized use of a 2001 Ford F-150 pickup that belongs to Kenneth E. Davidson
• Jackie Ray Cave, possession of a firearm after being convicted of a violent felony
• John Hagy Coalson, attempted malicious wounding against Tracy Lynn Stuckert
• Brandon Shane Coleman, possession of a schedule I drug, Methylenedioxymethamphetamine
• David Oakley Crookshanks, possession of methamphetamine, a schedule II drug
• Joshua Klee Crowder, possession of meth
• Timothy Levi Edwards, shoplifting third offense
• Andrea Catherine Hawks, possession of meth; credit card theft from Donna Webb; credit card fraud
• Rusty Dale Farris, three counts of assault and battery on officers (Deputy M.D. Dickerson, Deputy K.A. Kemp and Trooper S.M. Cochran)
• Rhyan Lee Isom, possession of morphine, a schedule II drug, and petit larceny third offense
• Isai Mendez Landero, identity theft, obtaining money by false pretenses
• Pamela Dawn Lawson, assault and battery on Deputy B.D. Lineberry
• Christopher Scott Linville, rape for “unlawfully and feloniously have sexual intercourse with a female child, against the complaining witness’s will, by force, threat or intimidation;” forcible sodomy with the 14-year-old complaining witness (three counts); object sexual penetration (two counts)
• Jason Douglas May, credit card theft from Donna Webb; credit card fraud
• Donny Lee Moore, shoplifting third offense
• Clyde H. Neal, bad check
• Luis Alberto Patino, object sexual penetration
• Ross Edward Payne, possession of meth; grand larceny of a 1990 Ford F250 pickup belonging to William F. Ayers; selling stolen property
• Lona Louise Peeples, possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, possession of meth
• Joey Roby Sechrist, robbery “by assault or otherwise putting Tonya Shalabi in fear of serious bodily harm, rob Tonya Shalabi of Kangaroo Express of U.S. currency; use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.”
• Gary Ronald Slayton, possession of meth with intent to distribute
• Rachel Havens Slusser, grand larceny from Sommer Ellen Aponte
• Robert Lee Smith, violation of the habitual offender statute
• Wendell Terry Welborn, malicious wounding against Timothy Hall
• Crystal Laverne Williams, petit larceny third offense
• Jason Henry Brown, obtaining property by false pretenses (two counts)
• Amber Shea Cochran, one count each of forgery, uttering and obtaining money by false pretenses
• Loy Maurice Dalton, possession of meth
• James St. Claire Dunn, three counts of grand larceny from Ramond David Haga, Michael Beecraft and Danny Tolley; statutory burglary from Helen Beecraft
• Theron Brady Goad, possession of meth
• Kevin J. Goin, grand larceny from the Carroll County Recycling Center
• George Albert Harper III, grand larceny from the Carroll County Recycling Center
• Shawn Phillip Jones, two counts of statutory burglary from the home of David Turner; a count of grand larceny for taking property belonging to Denise Puckett; six counts of larceny of a firearm; a count of receiving stolen property
• Shawn Michael Miller, grand larceny for taking property belonging to Lonnie Dale Easter
• Rickie Joe Rakes, grand larceny of property belonging to Lonnie Dale Easter
• Shane Smith, grand larceny for stealing property belonging to Lonnie Dale Easter
• Thomas Lester Webb, embezzlement from Puckett’s Produce and unauthorized use of a 1995 Ford Sport Van, belonging to Puckett’s Produce/Roland Craig Puckett
• Michael Shane Williams, statutory burglary from the home of Timothy and Denise Jarrell and grand larceny
• Jessica Romero Wright, grand larceny from the home of Tim Lineberry and destruction of property
• Michael Ray Wright, destruction of property of Tim Lineberry and grand larceny.
