HILLSVILLE — A Carroll County grand jury issued 141 indictments against 55 individuals in Monday’s circuit court session.

Indictments included a total of eight different charges against James Danny Miller of Dandridge, Tenn. According to the indictments, Miller has been charged with the abductions of Connie Denham, Kayla A. Denham and Lincoln T. Brady; along with four charges of the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and one charge of statutory burglary.

An earlier report of this incident by the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office indicated that Miller was aided by his 16-year-old son at the scene, where they allegedly broke into Connie Denham’s home, armed, back in February, and threatened the family inside.

Miller and Denham had had a previous relationship, Sheriff J.B. Gardner told The Gazette in February.

At the scene, deputies found a loaded .38-caliber handgun, extra ammunition and gloves that were identified by one of the victims as the firearm and gloves that Miller was wearing when the duo entered the home. Deputies found the 16-year-old juvenile with a mask, a roll of duct tape, a pair of gloves, and two flashlights in his possession.

A car belonging to a Miller family member was found outside with a pair of binoculars, packaging from the recent purchase of gloves, masks, and duct tape.

Both suspects were found trying to hide items in their possessions, but offered no further resistance during their arrests.

A series of indictments were also filed against Krystal Darlene Poole of Carroll County. Her charges included seven counts of statutory burglary, and seven counts of grand larceny.

According to a police report, Poole was arrested alongside Terry Conway Guynn, who is charged with eight counts of breaking and entering and eight counts of grand larceny.

These offenses all took place in the Wards Gap section of Carroll County during the months of October 2013 through February 2014. Several homes had been broken into by the duo on more than one occasion, according to the police reports.
