Carroll County runs over Richlands for SWD championship

 HILLSVILLE –– Megan Alderman and Lindsay Martin lit it up from the outside, combining for six 3-pointers and leading Carroll County past Richlands 71-47 in the Southwest District girls’ tournament championship game Thursday.

Martin led all scorers with 18 points for season champion Carroll County (19-4) and Alderman added 11. Taylor Martin scored 10 points for the Cavaliers.

Carroll County led 32-20 at halftime before putting the game away by outscoring the Blue Tornado 21-6 in the third period.
