ABINGDON –– What many expected to be one of Carroll County’s toughest Southwest District volleyball matches turned into a runaway as the Cavaliers rolled past Abingdon 25-15, 25-13, 25-7 Thursday night.
The win was the 10th straight without a loss for Carroll County, which upped its record to 5-0 in SWD play.
Kim Caudill put away 17 kills, had seven blocks and came up with 10 digs to lead the Cavaliers at the net. Caudill also served for 20 points, including four aces. Sarah Singleton added five kills to go with eight digs and 14 serving points. Leanna Rippey had four kills and 10 serving points and Maleah Neely chipped in with 18 serving points, a pair of kills, seven digs and 13 assists.
Carroll County dropped the JV match in three games, 26-24, 18-25, 15-9. Autumn Fink, Morgan Dickens and Ashton Huff served for 10 points each.
