GRUNDY –– Carroll County ran its season-opening win streak to seven games Thursday with a pair of easy wins over Grundy, sweeping a Southwest District double header 13-0 and 17-1.
The Cavaliers (3-0 district) led the first game 4-0 when they erupted for eight runs with two outs in the fourth inning. A walk and a Lindsey Davidson double set up Lexi Hodge, who singled home both runners. Ragan Halsey singled to drive in two more, scoring on Lillie Kimble’s base hit. Two runs scored on errors before Autumn Fink capped the outburst with an RBI single.
