The Carrico Bridge on Virginia 94 over the New River, which closed March 11 for inspection after being damaged by an overheight vehicle, will remain closed while a new bridge is built, according to a press release Monday from the Virginia Department of Transportation.
Construction of the new bridge in Grayson County was scheduled to begin this fall and plans were to use the existing bridge for traffic during construction and remove the old bridge upon completion of the new one.
