The House of Delegates race for the 6th District is more sensitive than ever this year, as Del. Annie B. Crockett has announced [she will not seek re-election].
My choice to take her place is the Republican candidate, Jeff Campbell.
Born and raised in Southwest Virginia, Jeff Campbell is the candidate we can trust to ensure that our small-town values are upheld in Richmond.
Knowing that coal plays a vital role in our prosperity, he will fight against those who want to see it die. His opponent has not stated his stance on this issue.
This is a concern to me and should be for the rest of Southwest Virginia. The gubernatorial hopeful, Terry McAuliffe, has [taken a stance against] the coal industry.
Jonathan McGrady runs on the very same ticket with the man attempting to destroy it. This leaves me with a strong sense of doubt.
My concern is that McGrady is not our friend, but will be working for everything we are against while up in Richmond.
Not a stranger to hard work, Jeff Campbell has dedicated his life to serving others and has worked hard to get where he is today.
Serving in the Army Reserves for over eight years, he knows the sacrifices that Americans make to protect our country.
With a proven record of job creation, creating more than 300 jobs during his time as mayor of Saltville, he knows what it takes to get a business up and running.
Working alongside us, he will do what it takes to represent the 6th District in a way we all can be proud.
For me, the choice is all too clear, with nothing to hide and a good record as proof. In Southwest Virginia we know where Jeff Campbell stands, and that is with us.
