Bunn turns 90

In celebration of the 90th birthday of Annabelle Bunn, her daughter Kathy Bunn Murray hosted a birthday party July 10 for 96 guests at Galax First Assembly of God Church. She is from a family of 10 children and had 13 children of her own over a span of 25 years.


She has 36 grandchildren, 6 step-grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren, and 12 step-great grandchildren.
Bunn was born in 1920 during the Depression, and her country home had to running water or electricity.
The family was self-sufficient and raised its own food and livestock, and made its own clothing. Bunn worked througn age 80.
She kept a photographic account of each of her dozen children throughout their growing years.
Bunn lives on her own, drives and volunteers at Twin County Regional Hospital. She cooks and cans and mows her own yard.
At 88, she was still jet-setting, and traveled to California for the 10th time. At 89, she was photographed riding the back of a motorcycle with her son, Bobby.
“If the Lord wasn’t looking after me, I couldn’t have done these things,” Bunn said. “He gets the credit for all of it. Without God’s love and grace, my life could have been so different.”
