Sherrill Britt rolled in a birdie putt on the 17th hole to break a three-way tie for first place and win the annual Member-Member, Member-Guest golf tournament held at Blue Ridge Country Club in Galax recently.

Britt and partner Frank McBayer were tied with two other teams, Brad Chambers-James Williams and Brock Cox-Dustin Thompson,  at 12-under par when he dropped the winning putt. The teams parred the 18th hole to give Britt-McBayer the win at 13-under with rounds of 64-63 and a 127 total.

Chambers-Williams shot rounds of 63-65 and Cox-Thompson 64-64 to tie for second place at 128.

The scoring format was best ball of the twosome team.

Blue Ridge manager Graham Laird said he was pleased with the large turnout of 120 golfers and the thrilling finish to a tournament that was hammered by rainstorms on several occasions.
