RICHMOND — Supporters of Virginia’s training centers for the intellectually and developmentally disabled take as a hopeful sign an amendment to Senate Bill 627.
Though proposals that specifically sought to keep four training centers from closing in the future failed, the Senate bill meant to protect residents from being transferred to facilities with inferior care may end up providing further protections for the centers.
