Arnold, Carpenter wed

Kari Denise Arnold of Max Meadows and Jamie Louis Carpenter of Elk Creek were united in marriage June 19 at  Baker’s Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church in Ivanhoe.
The double-ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. Chris Stansell.

Wedding music was provided by vocalists Keith Buchanan and Sheree Skinner.
The bride wore a strapless beaded lace gown draped in chiffon with a chapel length train.
Maid of honor was Holly Arnold of Max Meadows, sister of the bride.
Attendants were Kristen Baggerly of Charlotte, N.C., friend of the bride; Michelle Withrow of Greensboro, N.C., sister of the groom; and Micah Alley of Max Meadows, friend of the bride.
Flower girl was Rileigh Dalton of Max Meadows, cousin of the bride. They wore dress-length chiffon dresses in sapphire and aqua.
Best man was Carol Withrow of Greensboro, N.C., brother-in-law of the groom. Groomsmen were Mike McGee of Max Meadows, friend of the groom; Donnie Widener of Wytheville and Craig Davidson of Saltville, both friends of the groom.
Ring bearer was Matthew Watson of Waynesboro, N.C., cousin of the bride.
Ushers were Mark Dalton of Max Meadows, uncle of the bride; Keith Buchanan of Hickory, N.C., uncle of the bride; and Basil Carpenter Jr., of Independence, uncle of the groom.
The groom wore a black tuxedo with a white vest and tie. The best man, groomsmen and ushers wore black tuxedos with sapphire and aqua vests and ties.
The bride is the daughter of Scott and Suelyn Arnold of Max Meadows. She is the granddaughter of Dennis and Sue Sheppard of Rural Retreat, Paul and Bonnie Ratcliff of Max Meadows and the late Carson Arnold.
She is a 2004 graduate of Fort Chiswell High School and a 2008 graduate of Emory & Henry College. She is employed as an athletic trainer at Radford High School.
The groom is the son of Roger and Judy Carpenter of Elk Creek. He is the grandson of the late Rolf and Ruth Taylor of Elk Creek and the late Hattie and Basil Carpenter Sr. of Independence.
He is a 1999 graduate of Grayson County High School and Southwest Community College, and a candidate for graduation from the paramedic program in spring 2011. He is an E-911 dispatcher with the Wythe County Sheriff’s Office.
An outdoor reception was held on the church grounds.
For their honeymoon, the couple went to Walt Disney World and Sea World in Orlando, Fla.
