WILMINGTON, N.C. — A former president of AmerLink log homes received a sentence of three years probation and 400 hours of community service last Thursday after admitting he committed bankruptcy fraud, according to U.S. Attorney George E.B. Holding.
AmerLink declared bankruptcy after a failed economic development deal with Carroll County, Va. The company was supposed to create 200 jobs in exchange for $600,000 in state incentive funds and 32 acres of county land. Carroll is suing to reclaim that property.
