AmeriCorps workers appreciated

-A A +A

During AmeriCorps Week, March 9-17, I would like to sing the praises of the 30 Reading for Life AmeriCorps members who serve as literacy and math tutors in Carroll County Schools.
These dedicated men and women provide a much-needed service tutoring and mentoring students.
The AmeriCorps members also design and/or create activities and materials to be used with the students to increase their motivation to learn.
Besides the many projects held after hours at the schools,  members have also participated in several community service projects: the 9/11 food drive, English as a Second Language Multicultural Night, food drive for the Carroll County Christmas Fund, Healthy Youth Day activities, and help at the soup kitchen at Rooftop.
Thank you again for your continued service for students in Carroll County Schools and the Carroll community.
