HILLSVILLE — Alcohol played a part in a wreck and injury involving a moped on East Grayson Street on Nov. 29 at about 4 p.m., according to a police report.
Hillsville Police Department Officer Billy Anauo responded to a report of a single-vehicle crash and found Timothy Glenn Freeman, 47, injured at the scene.
Freeman told the officer that he applied his brakes and started skidding. Freeman lost control and flipped the moped onto its side.
Anauo charged Freeman with driving under the influence of alcohol, second offense within five years; reckless driving; and driving after having his license revoked for an alcohol-related offense.
Carroll Fire Rescue transported Freeman to Twin County Regional Hospital for treatment.
