Last week we attended the 75th Old Fiddlers’ Convention in Galax along with 24 other Airstream recreational vehicle families.
It was a wonderful experience and we were treated just like family by everyone in the community.
This was our first visit to Galax and introduction to the fiddlers’ convention. The music was exceptional, not only during competition, but at the Blue Ridge Music Center, Stringbean’s, and by several groups who entertained us at our RV parking site by the Fairview Ruritan Club.
This was truly a family-oriented activity. We appreciated all the hard work by the community to give us this great music (and good food, too).
Our sincere thanks to Betty and Junior Patton who helped make this a special enjoyable week.
We live in Florida and are looking forward to next year and continuing our “mountain music” education.
