Agency warns of Medicare scam

District Three Senior Services is warning senior citizens about calls being made to seniors as part of a Medicare scam.
Medicare beneficiaries around the state have been reporting fraudulent calls asking them to verify personal information in order to receive their new Medicare card.
Specifically the callers are asking seniors to verify their bank account and Social Security numbers as well as their address.
District Three advises not to provide information to the callers. Anyone who receives such a call can report the incident to the Medicare Fraud line at 1-800-633-4227.
